Case Study: Crafting First Impressions - A Front Door Designed to Last a Lifetime

For Eliza, this vision was clear from the start. She did not just want a replacement door. She wanted an entryway that would elevate the entire feel of her home.

The original door had seen better days. The frame had rotted and security was a growing concern. But rather than opting for a quick fix, Eliza chose to invest in something truly special. Having admired other Blackfields doors in her street, she had already set her heart on a handcrafted solution that would honour the character of her home while standing the test of time.

We created a beautiful bespoke accoya front door and frame, complete with a carefully designed sill and grate below. Every detail was considered. The door features a striking two-tone finish, allowing for a different look inside and out. Externally, the soft elegance of Farrow and Ball Parma Grey provides a timeless kerb appeal, while internally, the deeper tones of Hopper Head create a warm and inviting feel.

To complete the look, polished brass ironmongery was selected to complement the Parma Grey exterior. The result is a refined and eye catching entrance that feels both classic and distinctive. Eliza’s brief was to deliver a door that blended seamlessly with the heritage of her home while showcasing true craftsmanship. It is safe to say the finished piece does exactly that.

Moving inside, we also designed and crafted bespoke understairs storage tailored precisely to Eliza’s space and day to day needs. Every element was carefully considered to ensure it functioned effortlessly, making the most of an oft-overlooked area. From a design perspective, we wanted this addition to feel like a natural extension of the entryway rather than an afterthought. By using the same interior paint finish and polished brass hardware as the door, we created a cohesive and considered look that ties the whole space together. The result is a practical storage solution that also adds a sense of luxury from the moment you step inside.
