From Render to Reality: Why is it important?

Before any timber is cut or paint is mixed, one of the most valuable stages in our process is bringing a client’s vision to life through detailed renderings. This stage allows both our team and the client to visualise the design in full before any work begins, ensuring that everything aligns with their expectations. It’s where ideas are refined and adjustments are made. This is where confidence in the final result truly takes shape and where a project begins to set the foundation for a finished piece that feels entirely bespoke and packed with quality.
Our client for this project was an interior designer with a very specific vision. She wanted us to create a set of fitted wardrobes and built-in headboard for a Parisian boutique-style bedroom. We wanted to ensure that we made something than would not only form a sturdy focal point for the room, but also fitted the soft and airy feel to fit with her vision.

To make sure everything was exactly as she envisioned, our team produces detailed rendered drawings of our design for her to feedback on before we got started on the work. We settled on an octagonal beveled panel design, with rattan inset panels that we carefully sprayed to match the rest of the woodwork, including the painted interior of the wardrobe. The rattan gave the design an airy yet sophisticated feel, and the not-quite-matt 10% sheen finish in the shade Scallop kept the overall look soft and elegant.
The integrated light switches for the bedside lamps fitted to the headboard were a perfect example of how aesthetics don’t have to be sacrificed for functionality. And because the customer is always at the heart of everything we do, we made sure the hanging rails were custom fitted to suit the client’s reachable height. With only a 4-week project timeline from sign-off to completion, we were proud to produce such a beautiful backbone for this uniquely styled space.

So to answer the question why it's important? Because a render is more than just a drawing, it’s the bridge between visualisation and craftsmanship. It gives our clients the chance to see their ideas take shape, to feel confident in every detail before a single material is cut. When that vision finally becomes reality, it’s not just a reflection of our work, but of the collaboration and trust built along the way and something that can be cherished.
